The Dark Peak Pest Gin

On our farm on the hill above Marple Bridge, it’s a battle to hold back the rapidly spreading brambles and invasive Himalayan Balsam.

So, we decided to put these pests to good use and created The Dark Peak Pest Gin.

 

The delicately flavoured pink flowers and peppery Balsam seeds have been gathered by hand on long summer evenings, and combine beautifully with juicy blackberries for our Balsam and Bramble Gin. Created by our friend Duncan McLean at the award-winning Green Room Distillery in London, this is a spirit grown in and inspired by Mellor (and its pests).
